Legal Question in Insurance Law in South Carolina
Life insurance
Hi,
I submitted my claim to a insurance company over a month ago. Since, they have not been able to give me any information as to the status of the account or to when i will recieve the benefits. How long should it take for an insurance company to process the insurance claim. I was told by ythe consultant at the funeral home that it should take no longer than two weeks. Is there any law regarding this information

Your question is really kind vague. You haven't said what type of claim this is nor what it is for, nor whose policy it is. It appears to be a claim under a life insurance policy but its hard to tell. I am not aware of a specific law stating a time frame. Sometimes the policy itself will state a time frame.
