Legal Question in Intellectual Property in South Carolina

I got a copy of Examkrackers book from eBay. Being international, I did not know about copyright laws of the US, so I felt that if I could buy a pirated copy of an ebook and audio CD(which somehow both were contained in a DVD, then I could sell it too). As a result, I listed copies of the pirated item I got on eBay, and a total of six was bought of a total of $360 dollars. eBay notified me that the items ere against their policy, was removed, and I never listed it again (now knowing that it was not permitted by law). Five days later, I got an email from Examkrackers for copyright violation, and five days after that a charge of about $2650.30 to be paid in five days (due on March 04, 2011). I don't know how they did it, but they illegally hacked my information and sales activity from eBAy which was against the private policy of eBay and against the law (privacy violation. What do I do, please?

As a Franchise Attorney I can say this. Buying pirated copies of copyrighted materials on eBay is not a defense to copyright infringement. You need to consult with a good intellectual property or franchise attorney in your area ASAP for specific advice.
