Legal Question in Intellectual Property in South Carolina

I had a jingle made by a company in another state and just found out they copied the words from another company. What kind of trouble can this cause me?

As a Franchise Attorney I can say the answer depends on a number of factors. How is the jingle being used? Did the other company protect it? If so, how and when did they protect it?
