Collection Problem in UK

What is the procedure for filing a Debt Lien in the UK. Our contract has presidence in Charleston, SC. A UK company owes us over $200,000.00 US and refuses to pay.

You should consult with a local attorney in your jurisdiction first, and provide all relevant documents. The contract underlying the transaction may contain provisions on dispute resolution, choice of law/forum, etc.

I agree with Mr. Graves that you may be authorized by your contract and the facts to properly litigate this matter in SC, but you would still need to consult with a UK attorney to find out how to enforce your US judgment, which may be rather difficult. So you would probably want to consult with the UK attorney first to know if you would be buying an expensive piece of paper from a SC court or an enforceable judgment. My firm is affiliated with several firms in other countries and would be able to connect you with a UK attorney. 30 minutes of their time may safe you a lot of money and grief.
