Legal Question in Landlord & Tenant Law in South Carolina

How much notice do I need to give my landlord?

I rent a house with just a verbal agreement and let two of my friends move in with me. Now they're trying to move out in the middle of the month and not pay this month's rent. I know they can't not pay the rent but how much notice do they have to give me before they leave? Or do they have to pay for this whole month and leave whenever?

Re: How much notice do I need to give my landlord?

Usually one full month (for example if you wanted to move right away, the earliest would be Jan 1, since notice would be effective at end of NOV).

Your friends may leave anytime unless you had them form a contract with the landlord.

You might have a verbal sublease, but if they scram, your LL will go after you for full rent.
