Legal Question in Landlord & Tenant Law in South Carolina

Pet Eviction

I recently got a dog and she has severe separation anxiety. She makes noise during the day, but I still have never heard her bark. One neighbor has complained to the property manager and I am recording the dog while I'm at work. My lease does have a pet addendum but outlines basic items, such as cleaning up after the pet, etc. It mentions nothing about noise. The lease does mention noise, but there aren't specific quiet hours, or specific consequences to noise violations. Can my apartment take legal action, evict me or force me to get rid of the dog? I am going to take the dog to a vet in hopes of a solution, but I don't think knocking my dog out everyday is the solution.

Re: Pet Eviction

Let me see your lease. If the lease language is clear on noise, your pet may be out.In the meantime, do some online research re: training the dog not to bark. Go to Petsmart etc for collars that shock when the dog barks. In a few days, having the collar on will be enough deterrent to barking, even if its turned off.
