Owner of towing company claims to be mechanic
An owner of a towing company verbally agreed to repair my vehicle. The vehicle was left at a shop he lives behind, in a place he directed me to leave it and the keys were given to him. The shop is owned by tower's father and shares his last name. I brought him a clutch set to replace the one in the vehicle a month later after being told that was what the car required to be repaired. Months go by, the tower stops accepting my phone calls, accept when called by a third party, he claims he is still working on the car and he is ordering more parts needed from California...meanwhile the car seats in the same place with other workers saying it has not been touched. Finally in December, the tower says he has contracted the repairs with a mechanic, who says the tower is lying. But he agrees to look at the car and give me an estimate. He asks the tower for the keys to my vehicle and he says he has to locate them. Can I take the tower to small claims court for money spent on transportation from August to December? If so, are there other damages I may be able to recoup as well?

Call the tower and tell him you want your car back. Pay him only what you agreed originally to pay and find another service provider.
