paid attorney but, did not go to court

We are new to useing an attorney. We paid an attorney for a for our son court case but , on our return home the court had placed him on a program for first time offences Which he Passed removing him form there records . Can we get back all or some of the money paid in advance. thank you for any help--name removed--paroda

It sounds as though the attorney arranged a successful conclusion to the case. At least the disposition sounds favorable to your son. Part of an attorney's job is to see that a client gets the most favorable treatment available. The charge must be reasonable to the result, however, and if you feel you overpaid, why not write him a letter explaining your position and see what his response is. If you cannot resolve it informally, check with your local bar association to see what services they provide in such situations.
