Legal Question in Personal Injury in South Carolina

I was in a car accident on Friday June 1st. My mother, brothers, and grandmother were all passengers & I was the driver. A car hit us in the back but ran which caused me to hit the car in front of me causing a chain reaction involving two more cars. My car is totaled & my insurance company Geico said that I was not at fault. I then get a call this morning saying I am at fault based on the police report & the fact that no witnesses saw the vehicle that hit me. It's evident that someone hit me in the back but Geico now says I have to pay for all the other cars. Why is this? I do not feel this is right because I was rally not at fault.

You asked, "Why is this?"

Well, that's a good question. Unfortunately, I don't see how anyone can answer your question without seeing the police report and your car. I'm surprised you didn't describe the damage to the back of your car in your question and explain more about the accident reports. All accident reports will have some sort of an explanation as to what the police think caused the accident.

I would strongly suggest taking a good look at the report, and show it to an attorney.
