Legal Question in Personal Injury in South Carolina

Gas Station Incident

When I stopped to get gasoline today at a major gas station. I was exiting my car when I felt splattering of what I thought was water on my feet. The lady on the other side of the pump was yelling. I asked her if it was water she was spraying. She replied she did not know for sure. The pump was spraying gasonline on its own. It sprayed all over me and my vehicle. I went inside to get help from the attendant. The attendant got upset as if it was our fault and offered no help, other than turning off the emergency switch inside the station for the pump. The attendant actually had an attitude about the whole situation. She offered the other lady a free car wash, but did not give me one until I asked. My car still has smudges on the outside and the interior smells from where the gasoline hit my car. I have minor chemical burns from the splatter. My shoes and clothes are ruined. The soles of my shoes actually melted to the concrete from the gasoline. I contacted the regional manager of the store, who apologized. He took my information and told me his insurance company would be notifying me. Do I have a case? What would I ask for in the case? Should I consult a lawyer before talking with the insurance agent?
