Legal Question in Personal Injury in South Carolina

pain and suffering

I am entitled to pain and suffering resulting from an auto accident. The lady that rear-ended us agreed it was totally her fault. What is the normal amount requested for pain and suffering?

Thank you

Beverly

Re: pain and suffering

There really isn't a "normal amount." It all depends and varies from case to case. It depends on the type of injury, how severe it is, how long a person is under a doctor's care, whether the medical reports makes references to pain, whether the claimant has an attorney, whether it is the type of injury that will be painful in the future, etc. Without knowing the specifics of your particular case, its hard to tell you how much pain and suffering compensation you should get. Re: pain and suffering

Since every person and every accident are different, every case is different as well. As a result, there is no set, standard amount for pain and suffering, as that is just one factor among many that come into play when valuing a personal injury case.
