Legal Question in Personal Injury in South Carolina

Rear ended

I was rear ended by someone that had no insurance. I did not have collision, so my truck is totaled, I have medical bills, towing fees, etc. What can I expect if I hire a lawyer and sue this guy?

Re: Rear ended

You should have "un-insured" and "under-insured" coverage on your own policy which should help pay for some of your losses, if the accident was the other person's fault and he had no insurance. You should not have to sue him. If you do, and he has no insurance, it depends on whether he has any assets (and what kind of assets) whether you will ever collect anything. Good luck.

Suing a person is not all that difficult. Collecting on a judgment is another story. On one end you could be suing Donald Trump and on the other you could be suing the guy that rents a one room efficiency in the basement of the YMCA. It just all depends.
