Legal Question in Real Estate Law in South Carolina

I bought a twelve year old home last year. Today, my contractor is finding a lot of rot on the wood siding of the home. He has inspected the wood and has determined that the exterior of my home is PINE.

During the sale of this home in 2008 to me, the brochure that the previous owners printed out to show customers states that the exterior is CEDAR wood... a much more durable wood, less prone to rotting.

Do I have any legal recourse?

Thanks...

You might. But I don't have enough information to say for sure. The best thing you can do is to take that brochure along with all of your closing papers, including the sales contract, to an attorney who can review them and ask the necessary questions.
