Legal Question in Real Estate Law in South Carolina

Heir Property

How can I get the heir property that I pay taxes on put into my name? No one in my family wants the land, but I want to have it changed to my nmae since I have been paying taxes for many years. Someone told me to do a Quiet Claim, and I am not sure how or if that is the best way to proceed. Thank you for your help. The land is in South Carolina, but I now live in Georgia.

Re: Heir Property

There are several ways to accomplish your objective. Some require more work than others, but are necessary when the deceased did not make their wishes clear in a will that was probated. You should contact an attorney in South Carolina who is experienced in handling probate/property issues for assistance. If the appropriate procedures are not followed, you will end up owning nothing.
