Legal Question in Real Estate Law in South Carolina
Homeowner/developer covenant dispute
I paid a significant premium for a golf course/lagoon view house lot. Recent modifications to the hole by the developer, which included planting of trees/shrubs and changing contours have resulted in about a 60% degradation of my view. The covenant states there are no guaranteed views. Do I have legal recourse? Can I seek compensation?

Re: Homeowner/developer covenant dispute
I'm sorry to hear that. I'm sure your quite aggravated. All of the relavent documents would dictate your legal situation. Purchase agreement, any special agreement or guarantees with the HOA, by-laws, etc. With the very little information I have in this question I am really not in a position to advise you. You may want to contact an attorney in your area that can ask you the appropriate questions and advise. I wish you well.
