Legal Question in Real Estate Law in South Carolina

My mother and her brother inherited their mother's home when she passed. My Uncle agreed that the house should be 100% my mother's as she had been my grandmother's caretaker. My uncle has now passed and no paperwork was completed to make my mother sole owner. My aunt agrees that the home belongs to my mother. What do we need to do to legally make my mother the sole owner as his name is still on the deed? What paperwork etc. Do we need to hire a lawyer to help us? The home is in SC and my uncle lived in FL that is important.

Yes something this would be really difficult to do by yourself. Did anyone open an estate when your uncle died? Yes this is going to be a problem because multiple states are involved. If you are going to inherit the house, it's probably up to you to come up with the money to hire a lawyer.

Good luck.
