Legal Question in Real Estate Law in South Carolina

Property Abandonment

I own an acre of land with a mobile home on it. The home has significantly deteriorated over the past 6 years - to the point that I cannot afford the cost of repairs, nor the cost of the current mortgage. If I cannot sell the place I have no choice but to turn it back over to the lender. What are the legal steps for this?

Re: Property Abandonment

It depends. In order to tell you your options, email me with the following. You don't have to be exact, just guess as close as you can.

1. How much did you pay for it

2. Did the mobile home come with the land or did

add it later

3. How much do you think the land (without the

mobile home is worth

4. How much do you owe on it

5. How much are your payments
