Legal Question in Real Estate Law in South Carolina

Property owned by two parties in south carolina

I own a house in south carolina with another person and we have ended our relationship. Both of our names are on the deed and now she is telling me that she will give me $3,000 and for me to sign the property over to her. What are my legal rights?

It would be really helpful if I had more information. I assume you are not married to this person? I assume that there are no other agreement? Right now all I can do is tell you that you have rights, but I just don't have enough information to tell you much. I have no idea what you bought the house for, who paid what towards purchasing it, who had paid the mortgage, who has spent money on repairs and maintainence, etc. It sounds like you need to have a very detailed consultation with an atorney who can ask you all of the important questions necessary to give you good advise. You really haven't given me much to work with.
