Failure to Yield law and penalties
How does a failure to yield law work in South Carolina? My cousin was killed in an accident where the other driver was noted as failure to yield (ran a stop sign) in the police report, and he was not issued any summons. Since the accident resulted in a death, wouldn't that be vehicular manslaughter? What typed of penalties can this person face under the laws in SC?

Usually the police with cite the at-fault driver, especially when the officer states in the police report that someone was at fault. The only possibility that I can think of in your cousin's case is maybe they decided to have him arrested or indicted on a felony charge, such as Reckless Homicide, in which case it wouldn't have been just a traffic ticket.
