Legal Question in Traffic Law in South Carolina
Suspended License in another state
I have a legal drivers license in PA. I have a suspended drivers license in SC. I was pulled over without violating any traffic laws and given a ticket for driving with a suspended license. The suspended license from SC was from not paying a speeding ticket 8 years ago. I've had a legal working drivers license in PA for 5 years. What can I do? I do not want this violation because I will lose my PA license and not be able to go to work.

Pay the ticket, then you will need to have your prior license suspension to be resolved, failure to do so will automatically trigger a new license suspension for PA.
Re: Suspended License in another state
What happened to you has happened to a lot of people and is not fair. You should not have been given a ticket for having a suspended licensed, as you clearly had a license. It appears that what happened is that SC suspended your driving privleges and that is what the ticket was suppose to be for. You may have to go ahead and pay the old speeding ticket which will make it easier for the you or an attorney to discuss the current ticket with the police or the prosecutor. As with any legal matter, I have to strongly advise you to seek the services of an attorney. Your welcome to call if you have any other questions. Robert Johnston 843-828-1137
