Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in South Carolina

Lost Money From A Long Deceased Relative

Over 25 years ago, my uncle died and left his estate to a brother and his son. Recently I found that there are a number of accounts bearing his name and address that have been listed as ''lost money'' with his home state. The firms showing the listings require prepayment for any information regarding these accounts. Before I consider paying, I'd like to know if I would be entitled to the money since there are other relatives living. I feel that since probate was completed over 25 years ago and since no one else has claimed the money, I may be entitled to claim it. Even so, I'm sure a death certificate would be required and I don't have one. One of the accounts contains money being held for my grand-father in my uncle's name. What are my chances of successfully claiming these accounts??
