Legal Question in Workers Comp in South Carolina
should i expect some kind of pain and suffering settlement
I was hurt at work, by tripping on a nail that was coming up out of a board on a step. I hurt my knee and have to have surgery, my hip, back and shoulder are being checked on. Do you get any kind of settlement for pain and suffering or do you just get the medical payments and the wages you lose while out of work. So far workmans comp. is being very cooperative, but the future will tell.

Re: should i expect some kind of pain and suffering settlement
In addition to medical expenses, mileage reimbursement to and from your medical providers, and weekly checks while you are out of work, you are also entitled to an award for any partial or total permanent disability. For instance, the doctor may say at the conclusion of your treatment that you have a 10% impairment to your leg(knee) and other amounts of impairment to your other affected body parts. You may be entitled to a lump sum award for all of this. You are welcome to check out our website for more information at www.martinbrasington.com or give us a call if you have other questions.
