If I understand your question correctly, the attorney for your employer wants to conclude your case as it has been 2 years since your accident, and you want to know whether its worth hiring an attorney. Without knowing more specifics about your case, I can only speak in generalities. If you have an impairment rating or have received a settlement offer, an attorney in SC can only charge you 1/3 over the amount you have already been offered or the rating. For instance, if you have been offered $3,000 and you hire an attorney that helps you settle it for $10,000, the attorneys fee will be 1/3 of the additional $7,000 they recovered for you. Thats a pretty good deal for you as your take would be $7,666.67, which is alot better than the $3000 the adjuster offered. I have had cases where the adjuster offered my client $1,500 and we settled the case for $30,000. An experienced, reputable, SC workers' comp attorney will know what your case is actually worth and can typically get more money in your pocket than you could negotiate on your own, even after deducting their 1/3 fee. Hope this helps.
