3 Strikes Policy

I was hired on Nov 4th 2002. My son had to appear in court and I was summoned to be there.My boss wrote me up for this.Then I discovered 2 lumps on my breast.The only appointment that I could get was 2:00 pm.Which meant I had to leave work early.My boss wrote me up again.Today I found out that I have to have a biopsy next Wednesday.I'm afraid that I will be fired.Legally can they do this to me.I finally finished college,get this better job and I'm starting to get back on my feet and now this.I'm separated and trying to raise 3 children alone. I need my job!

Go in and talk to your boss. It may be that you are being written up because you go ahead and take the time you need without requesting it first. I cannot tell you what the law is in South Dakato, but there is federal law to cover wrongful termination of employment and a federal Equal Employment Opportunity Commission in your state. Look into it.
