Legal Question in Criminal Law in South Dakota

Can police report copies be relased to the public?

Can police records be released in the form of copies (of the police record) to the defendants. Can the states attorney's office make copies of recent police records and give them to the person who askes for them?

Defendants have a right to see reports. Reports are not typically released to people other than the defendants, although law enforcement agencies often make news releases.
