Legal Question in Family Law in South Dakota
Take Legal Action?
A former girlfriend of mine informed me around three years ago that she was pregnant and that I was one of three possible fathers. At that time I had told her that I wanted to have a paternity test done but she was with another man and didn't seem too thrilled about the idea. Regretfully, I let it go and didn't push for it. The child is now two and half and I want to know if I'm the father more than ever. I haven't spoke with the mother in over a year. Should I seek legal action for a paternity test? Also, I'm a recent college graduate with decent job and to my limited knowledge, she hasn't had a job in three + years. I want the test but I also want to know if because I have waited this long if it will open me up for child support suit and if so, what my chances are of winning the suit?

Re: Take Legal Action?
It is better that you engage a counsel of your own choice to do this legal procedure for you.Expect that you are open to a child support suit if it can be proven that you are the father of the child of your ex-girlfriend.May you find the truth about the filiation of your ex-girlfriend's child or forever hold your peace.
