Is it leagel to Double Rent in SD?

I gave my 30 notice to my landlord and he

said it was late. He required me to pay rent

for Oct after I moved out. He then rented

the place out on the 18 of Oct. Is he legally

bound to give me partial rent back?

Have you seen the new lease? DO you know when rent started being paid? Was there any damage deduction from your tenancy?
