Legal Question in Disability Law in Tennessee

I was sent a Contingency Retainer Agreement and have a question about one section.

Section IX Substitution or Discharges of Attorney

Attorney shall be paid for the amount of time spent handling Client's claim out of any settlement of or judgment on the claim for prosecution of which he is retained, in the event the Client dischargess him, obtains a substitution of attorneys, or Attorney withdraws before settlement is made or judgment is had. Attorney's hourly rate for payment of that time is $250.00 per hour.

my question: does the above statement mean I will be responsible for the Attorney's hourly rate or does this mean that if a settlement is made or a judgement is had that he will be paid his hourly rate from one of these?

This question must be asked of the attorney who sent you the agreement. It is not appropriate for an attorney to advise a potential client on a matter on which another attorney is working.
