Legal Question in Banking Law in Tennessee

Credit report handed out?

The bank that my husband uses for his businesses has apparently given a copy of his credit report to a man who is looking to destroy our businesses. Included were his SSN, DOB, and personal finance information. This man is technically an ''employee'' of the bank's, but did not have access to these records, as he had to ask a friend to get it for him. He works in a completely separate section of said bank, and is not allowed access to credit reports of customers. Do we have any legal recourse since this man is technically an employee? We know that he used the info to run a background check on my husband, and we are scared that he may try to open up accounts in our names without our knowledge. We know for a fact which employee handed over his credit report to this guy...we have a witness who heard/saw the whole thing. It was NOT during business hours, so this was definitely not necessary for any work-related purposes.

Re: Credit report handed out?

Sounds like a clear case of invasion of privacy and perhaps banking regs.
