Legal Question in Bankruptcy in Tennessee
If I file bankruptcy, will it affect my new wife
I plan on filing for bankruptcy later next week. I will be married in March of this year. Will this bankruptcy hurt my new wife, because she will be taking my last name. In other words, will the creditors come after all her stuff once she gets my last name and find out that I filed bankruptcy ?? If you could answer this question, it would be greatly appreciated. Thank you for your time and answer.

The debts appear to be all of your debts and not any joint debts with your new wife. Therefore, the bankruptcy is yours and yours alone. Her credit should not be affected in any way.
