Legal Question in Bankruptcy in Tennessee
Should I file or do nothing?,,,Help!
I hope you can help,,I am in debt pretty deep (credit cards),,I am currently unemployed and taking care of my elderly mother who has health problems. I have managed to keep up with my minimum payments on credit cards until now,(mostly by borrowing from other cards),,(Im about 2 months behind),,I dont own any property,,just have an old car (worth about 800$),,since I dont have any money or assets,,would it be better to file Chapter 7 or just do nothing? Thanks

You need to stop using the credit cards NOW. But you also can stop making payments.
If Mom is likely to leave you anything in her Will, I would suggest that you file Chapter 7. But if she has no assets, there is no harm in doing nothing for now.
