Legal Question in Business Law in Tennessee
Agreement with Employer
My wife entered into an agreement with a Hospital to pay Medical School expenses. Hospital was sold, and 8 months later, the Hospital cancels her agreement. The new management was aware of the agreement at the time they purchased the Hospital. The agreement allows for the contract to be terminated if the Hospital was sold. Is there a time limit on how long the new company can wait before it terminates the agreement? Is this termination valid?

Re: Agreement with Employer
It depends on exactly what the agreement says and exactly what was said or done between the time the new hospital took over and when the agreement was terminated.
You should have an attorney look at the situation because you may have some recourse against the new hospital.
