what should i do if the city gives me a business license but there is no ordiance on the books for the type of business?

As a Franchise Attorney I can say the following. If the city gives your the business license, what's the problem after that? Often they classify an otherwise unclassified business under "miscellaneous." Consult with a good business or franchise attorney in your area for specific advice.
