Re: Company using two different names

It is true that a company can legally do business under many different names, however, if a company is small or medium sized sometimes the use of many different names for different purposes for different audiences can be a sign of trouble. A company cannot use different names to commit fraud, engage in unfair or illegal trade practices or competition or frustrate creditors. If you feel that the use of this second name is suspicious, please contact us and give us more details so we can help you determine if there is a problem.

Yes, a company can have an official name on its legal charter, a trade name for selling products, and even a third name for other types of business.
