Legal Question in Civil Rights Law in Tennessee

Invasion of personal privacy

Details of a persons private life were made public in a book.

The persons name is mentioned, the details published are very personal indeed (sex-life etc.). The book includes photographs of the person. Some details on behalf of the person are wrong.

Is there a right of privacy in the US, especially Tennessee? Is this right violated against in the above mentioned case?

Re: Invasion of personal privacy

Depending on several facts, you may very well have a cause of action against the author/publisher. Causes of action such as defamation, invasion of privacy and intentional infliction of emotional distress may apply here. Call me if you have any questions. Please be aware that there are deadlines for these types of actions. 901-527-9600
