i need off probation so i can move with my wife who is in the airforce

im am on 8 years probation and i have recently paied all of my fines. my wife has joined the airforce and i need to move with her but my probation officer wont let me i need off probation how can i get off?

Ask the probation officer if you can have your probation transferred to another office. Otherwise, you can petition the judge, but don't expect much if your PO won't go along.

8 years is a LOT of probation, so chances are the crime was pretty serious, and you're not likely to be given a compassionate release to pick up and move just because your wife now works for the government. Lots of couples live apart.

But, at least try it and explain that you have even more reason to successfully complete your probation. If you've been a model citizen, you might ask them to at least shorten your probation.
