Legal Question in Civil Rights Law in Tennessee

repossession

My husband was served papers from a finance company that repossessed his vehicle for nonpayment. He had no choice as he was having a bad run of luck. What reasons can a person get out of paying a debt that should of never been approved and the people were already having financial difficulty? My husband was 20 at the time . Thank you for any info. you can give us. We are trying so hard to get on our feet and are paying off little debts slowly . They want us to pay their lawyer fees and the whole amount of the car.

Thank you ,

Millie

Re: repossession

Unfortunately, if your husband got the money for the loan, he is going to be obligated to repay the loan and, more than likely, the attorney fees as well. There are bankruptcy laws which are available to him but it would be a shame to file bankruptcy simply because of a car loan. You may want to contact a bankruptcy lawyer simply to inquire.

Best of luck.
