Can a subcontractor put a lien on a home if the contractor refuses to pay because the job did not meet satisfaction?

NO, a subcontractor does not have lien rights on residential property, only commercial property, UNLESS the subcontractor contracted directly with the owner of the residential property. Then the subcontractor could assert a lien on the property. But if the subcontractor did NOT contract directly with the owner, then he cannot assert a lien. His only recourse is to simply sue the general contrctor.
