Can I appoint a ''proxy'' to go to small claims court for me?

I have a customer whom I shipped an order to and she has subsequently refused to pay. She is in TN and I am in CA, not very practical for me to travel to TN to appear in court. Can I appoint someone to go to court for me and appear on my behalf to secure a judgement against her?

Not in California, so probably not in Tennessee
