Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Tennessee
car dealer
I just bought a car today. It was a used car, the man said it was a good car. I took it on a quick test drive. I decided to buy it. It was a ''sold as is car.'' Tonight the service engine soon light came on and it started acting like it was skipping. Is there any law or rule that will allow me to take it back or trade it in at the same car lot? Someone told me there was a law that said I had 30 days no matter what, is this true?

Re: car dealer
In some instancese you will have three (3) days in which to return the car. I would contact the seller immediately and offer to return the car in exchange for a refund of any amounts you have paid. If the seller refuses the return, make sure that refusal is documented. Then contact an attorney about prosecuting a claim under the Consumer Protection Act.
