Civil Summons for Car Repo 2004

I had a car repossed in 2004. It was a voluntary repo and the last I heard they has sold the car. I received a civil summons and the collections office is requesting $9600. What options do I have? Are the limitations for collection up, I live in TN? My bring home is $660 per month, that is after child support. I contacted the attorney and requested to work out some type of arrangement, they said no and that they would see me in court. Can they take the rest of my paycheck?

They will have to get a judgment against you. Then, if you don't voluntarily pay them, they will have to garnish your wage or try to attach the judgment to something you own. There are, however, statutory limits on how much of your paycheck can be garnished.
