Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Tennessee

Contract

I entered into auto loan contract in 2000, intended for adult child. Lender aware and agreeable to accept payments from adult child, as if purchaser. 2nd adult child later assumed loan the same. Does this breach the original contract? Am I still obligated to satisfy this debt? This auto was never intended for me. Also 2 contracts for the same auto was signed. Which is legal and binding? And finally, never received payment book. Lender makes harassing telephone calls to inquire, request and follow up! Is this legal method of collecting?

Re: Contract

You are still liable on any contract you sign, even if someone else is making the payments and you did not use the auto. I have no way to know about the 2 contracts you mention without reviewing them. The fact that you never received a payment book is irrelevant. The lender can call you quite a lot regarding the payments, it would depend on the amount, time, and what exactly was said as to whether or not it would be harrassment.
