Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Tennessee
debt collection question
My wife has several credit cards which see is severely behind on. She is the primary cardholder but has gotten cards in my name on the accounts.
Now they are posting the late payments on my credit report. I have never signed an agreement with them, only she has. Is is legal for them to post these on my credit report?

Re: debt collection question
If they are in your name, then the credit card company thinks they had your permission to open them unless you are merely an "authorized user". You will need to check your status with the company. If you are only an authorized user, then you shouldn't get marks on your credit report.
