can a collection company or if you have a judgement againist you can my ssi check be garnist?

If you are co-mingling or mixing your SSI check with other monies in the same bank account then, "YES", that bank account can be garnished. But if you are keeping a bank account and the ONLY monies in that account are SSI monies, then "NO" your account can't be garnished. The trick is to keep you SSI monies in an account separate from other monies (like your spouse's paycheck, etc.)
