Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Tennessee

Medical

I am being sued by a hospital and I am disputing the amount owed. They said I owed almost $600, but I actually only owed $208. I sent the attorney for the plaintiff copies of all of my reciepts and information. I received a letter today saying that theyare requestiong a ''voluntary non-suit, without prejudice''. What does that mean? I have been unable to get in touch with the attorney to find out, and he has not returned my calls.

Re: Medical

A voluntary non-suit without prejudice means that the Plaintiff is dismissing the case but retains the option to refile the case again. You would have to be served again if the case is refiled. I would advise asking for a copy of the non-suit to make sure that is what was filed by the Plaintiff.
