Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Tennessee
Question about a repo on a car
I have a friend who was divorced almost 7 years ago. In the divorce her x kept a Ford Focus. In the divorce papers it states that he would take the car and assume all responsablities pertaining to it. The car was repoed and now Ford Motor Credit is trying to collect from both of them. FMC lawyer tells her that FMC supersedes any court of law. What do you think?

Re: Question about a repo on a car
FMC can still collect/sue your friend. What your friend must do to enforce the divorce decree is sue her ex for whatever costs she gets hit with because he didn't pay for the car like he agreed to in the divorce papers.
