Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Tennessee

We had set up payment arrangements through a lawyer for a company we owed money to. We have fallen almost 2 months behind. However we have recieved no phone calls or coorespondense by mail. Now they have garnished our checking and savings account for everything we had. is this legal?
