My spouse has credit card debt. Will i be responsible if he dies?

If the Cards are in your name too, then yes you will be responsible for the debt. However, if the cards are in his name only, then the debts will be paid by the assets of his estate once he dies. The remaining assets will then be distributed to the heirs or according to his will. So your future potential inheritance from your spouse will be what is used to pay off the debts.
