If you create a debt in the state of Tennessee, the suit can still be filed against you in Tennessee where the statute of limitations, in general, is six years for breach of contract and possibly four years for the sale of goods. This is so regardless of whether you live in Tennessee or move out of the state. If however, the suit is filed against you in a court in the new state to which you have moved, the statute of limitations will be whatever the applicable limitation period is for that new state.
