Legal Question in Criminal Law in Tennessee
An argument started between me and my husband in Septemember of 2008 I was arrested and a no contact order was put on us. He had t he no contact order dropped. Due to some stuff going on he ended up getting arrested for the same thing so there is more than likely a no contact order against him from me now. I don't know feel threatened by my husband. He hasn't been on his medicine and that's all he really needs right. We were starting marriage counsiling and a couple anger management class. Question is,can I drop the no contact order if I want too?
1 Answer from Attorneys
There is no such thing as a "no contact order." There may be an Order of Protection, or a Condition of Release, or even a Condition of Probation.
As a general rule, changing those requires the Judges's permission.
